We told you last week we are getting ready to be at the Between The Trees festival the end of August which we are very excited about! We also said that we will be celebrating the resilience of our communities past and present by taking two partnership projects with us namely 'Voices from Underground' and 'Voices of Experience'. Last week's episode was all about 'Voices from Underground' and worth a watch if you have not done so already. But, this week it's the turn of 'Voices of Experience' We look back at two particular stories we featured before namely Tracy from the Splice baby bank and young Biyanca and her team of creatives that brought to life her story that she wrote when she was only seven during the very first lockdown. There are rumours that her film is to be entered into a national children's film festival, but more on that as it unfolds. As we get closer to the Between the Trees festival, we will showcase more Voices from Underground and Voices of Experience, so look out for those. For more information on SPLICE please visit www.spliceproject.co.uk and for more on Between the Trees please visit www.betweenthetrees.co.ukAs always, you can reach out to us at www.strongertogetherbridgend.co.uk________________________Fe wnaethon ni ddweud wrthych yr wythnos diwethaf ein bod ni'n paratoi i fod yng ngŵyl Rhwng y Coed ddiwedd mis Awst ac rydyn ni'n gyffrous iawn amdani!Dywedasom hefyd y byddwn yn dathlu gwytnwch ein cymunedau ddoe a heddiw trwy fynd â dau brosiect partneriaeth gyda ni sef 'Voices from Underground' a 'Voices of Experience'.Roedd pennod yr wythnos diwethaf yn ymwneud â 'Voices from Underground' ac yn werth ei wylio os nad ydych wedi gwneud hynny eisoes. Things are opening up with sporting events and now the arts!Recently Mal Pope performed at Porthcawl Grand Pavilion and now Stronger Together Bridgend is honoured to be given a place as part of the Between The Trees festival the end of August.A big heart felt thank you to Dawn and Andrew for inviting us!We want to use this opportunity to celebrate all of YOU by highlighting how resilient our communities have been over these past lockdowns with so much uncertainty in the air to contend with. ''Since, the start of the pandemic, the number of carers in Wales has increased – the National Survey for Wales issued a monthly report in June 2020, which showed that 35% of people looked after, or gave help or support to family members, friends, neighbours or others. This has increased from 29% in the 2019-20 full-year survey.''The above quote is taken from www.gov.wales and underlines the need to raise awareness of unpaid carers role that so many of you might have taken on knowingly or unknowingly. With that in mind various organisations across the borough have pulled together to bring you this week's show in recognition that it is National Carers Week.Listen to first hand stories from young carers and adult carer that will leave you questioning at times who is the carer in this story and who is the actual cared for as it is sometimes not very straight forward. And so, to help us all navigate what support is out there and even ask the question who is a carer and who is not Paula Lunnon from the Wales Co-operative Centre (Connecting Carers) helped us to pull together as many representatives from as many organisations that where available on the day of recording to take part in our special carers panel discussion hosted by our very own Mike Church.Representatives on the panel included / Mae’r panel yn cynnwys :Paula Lunnon (Connecting Carers / Wales Co-operative Centre Canolfan Cydweithredol Cymru)(e) paula.lunnon@wales.coopHarriet Hopkins (Awen Cultural Trust / Libraries Manager / Ymddiriedolaeth Ddiwylliannol Awen /Rheolwr Llyfrgelloedd)www.awen-libraries.comHelen Davey-Thiel (Carers Wellbeing Service / Carers Trust South East Wales / Carers Engagement Officer / Swyddog Gofalwyr )www.ctsew.org.ukJess Jaques (Feel Good For Life / Halo Leisure / Hamdden Halo )www.haloleisure.org.ukLeanne Toy (Techtivity)www.techtivity.org.ukBeverley Jones (Bridgend Carers Centre / Carers Link Support Worker / Canolfan Ofalwyr Pen-y-Bont ar Ogwr/ Gweithiwr Cefnogol Carers Link )www.bridgendcarers.co.ukRobin Johns (Impetus Dance / Volunteer Carers Support Officer / Swyddog Cefnogi Gofalwyr Gwirfoddol )www.impetusdance.co.ukBethan Phelps (Alzheimers' Society / Dementia Connect Local Services Manager / Cymdeithas Alzheimers / Rheolwr Gwasanaethau Lleol Dementia Connect )www.alzheimers.org.uk/about-us/wales___________________Ers dechrau'r pandemig, mae nifer y gofalwyr yng Nghymru wedi cynyddu - cyhoeddodd Arolwg Cenedlaethol Cymru adroddiad misol ym mis Mehefin 2020, a ddangosodd fod 35% o bobl yn gofalu am aelodau'r teulu, ffrindiau, cymdogion neu eraill, neu'n rhoi cymorth neu gefnogaeth iddynt. Mae hyn wedi cynyddu o 29% yn arolwg blwyddyn lawn 2019-20. Mae’r dyfyniad uchod gan www.llyw.cymru yn dangos yr angen sydd i godi ymwybyddiaeth ynglŷn â gofalwyr sydd ddim yn cael eu talu. Gan hynny, mae sefydliadau ar draws y bwrdeistref sirol wedi dod at ei gilydd i greu’r sioe wythnos yma ar Wythnos Gofalwyr Genedlaethol. Gwrandewch ar straeon gan ofalwyr ifainc ac oedolion sydd yn gofalu, straeon gwnaiff codi cwestiynau am bwy yn union sydd yn gofalu am bwy, sydd ddim wastad yn amlwg.Er mwyn ein helpu i ddeall mwy am y cefnogaeth sydd ar gael mae Paula Lunnon o Ganolfan Cydweithredol Cymru (Connecting Carers).
